TechNaut Labs Privacy Policy
Draft: pending legal/compliance review.
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Technaut LLC, doing business as TechNaut Labs [DBA registration pending] (“TechNaut Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website at [TBD: domain] (the “Site”), fill out our contact form, schedule a call, or otherwise communicate with us. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Site or submit information to us.
1. Who We Are
TechNaut Labs is a specialty service company that works with small business owners, generally businesses with roughly $1 million to $20 million in annual revenue, on tax and financial efficiency and growth strategies. Our legal entity is Technaut LLC.
We may work alongside affiliated or partner firms to deliver certain services. When we do, we tell you at the time of engagement, and those firms handle your information under their own privacy notices as well as any agreements between us.
This Privacy Policy covers information collected through the Site and related marketing and scheduling communications. Information you share with us during a paid engagement is also governed by the engagement agreement for that work. If that agreement conflicts with this Policy, the engagement agreement controls for that information.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us. When you submit our contact form, book a meeting, reply to our messages, or otherwise contact us, you may give us:
- Contact details, such as your name, email address, mobile or business phone number, and mailing address;
- Business details, such as your company name, industry, role or title, approximate annual revenue, number of employees, and the challenges or goals you describe;
- Scheduling details, such as the dates and times you are available and meeting notes;
- Communication preferences, including whether you agree to receive SMS/text messages or marketing emails; and
- Anything else you decide to include in a message or form field.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank or card account numbers, tax returns, or similar sensitive financial documents through the Site’s contact form. If an engagement requires that kind of information, we will give you a more secure way to provide it.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we, our service providers, and our advertising and analytics partners may automatically collect:
- Device and browser data, such as IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, language settings, and general location (city, state, or region) inferred from your IP address;
- Usage data, such as pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, referring and exit pages, the date and time of your visit, and form interactions; and
- Email and message engagement data, such as whether you opened an email or clicked a link in it.
Information from cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. Much of the automatic collection described above happens through cookies, pixels (also called web beacons or tags), scripts, and local storage. Section 4 explains these in more detail.
Information from other sources. We may receive information about you from referral sources, affiliated or partner firms (with your permission or where otherwise allowed), event co-hosts, and publicly available sources such as business directories and professional networking sites. We may combine this with information we already have.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to your inquiries and requests, and follow up on form submissions;
- Schedule, confirm, remind you of, and reschedule consultations and meetings;
- Assess whether our services may be a fit for your business and prepare for conversations with you;
- Provide, manage, and improve our services, including under any separate engagement agreement;
- Send transactional and service-related messages, such as appointment confirmations and reminders;
- Send marketing communications, such as newsletters, educational content, and offers, where allowed by law and in line with your preferences;
- Operate, maintain, analyze, and improve the Site, including understanding how visitors use it;
- Measure the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing campaigns and show relevant ads to you on other websites and platforms;
- Protect the security and integrity of the Site and our business, and detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or illegal activity;
- Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, and recordkeeping obligations, and enforce our Terms and Conditions; and
- Carry out other purposes that we describe when we collect the information, or that you consent to.
We may also create aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you, and use it for any lawful business purpose.
4. Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Do Not Track
What we use. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including technologies provided by third parties, for the following purposes:
- Essential/functional: to make the Site and its forms and scheduling tools work, remember your choices, and help keep the Site secure.
- Analytics: to understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve it. [TBD: confirm tools, e.g., Google Analytics.]
- Marketing/advertising: to measure ad performance, build audiences, and show you TechNaut Labs ads on other websites and social platforms (retargeting). Advertising platforms whose pixels or tags may run on the Site include [TBD: confirm list, e.g., Meta Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag].
These third parties may collect information about your activity on the Site and across other websites over time, and use it under their own privacy policies.
Your choices. You can:
- Set your browser to block or delete cookies (some parts of the Site, such as forms or scheduling, may not work properly if you do);
- Use the cookie preference tool on the Site, if one is offered [TBD: confirm whether a cookie banner/consent tool will be installed];
- Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout);
- Adjust ad settings directly with platforms such as Google and Meta; and
- Opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org).
Opt-outs generally apply only to the browser and device you use them on. If you clear cookies or switch devices, you may need to opt out again. Opting out does not mean you will stop seeing ads. The ads you see will just be less tailored.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Some browsers send “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. [TBD: confirm whether the Site will honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) or other opt-out preference signals as an opt-out of targeted advertising for residents of states that require it; recommended.]
5. Third-Party Service Providers, Including GoHighLevel
We use trusted third-party service providers to run the Site and our business. They process personal information on our behalf and under our instructions, and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes except as their own terms and the law permit. These providers include:
- GoHighLevel (HighLevel, Inc.), our customer relationship management (CRM) platform. When you submit the contact form on the Site, your information goes directly into our GoHighLevel account. We also use GoHighLevel to send emails and SMS/text messages, manage appointment scheduling and reminders, and keep records of our communications with you. GoHighLevel and its underlying telecommunications and email delivery vendors process this information to provide those services. You can learn more in HighLevel’s privacy policy on its website.
- Website hosting and site-building services [TBD: confirm, e.g., GoHighLevel sites/funnels].
- Analytics and advertising providers, as described in Section 4.
- Video conferencing and calendar tools [TBD: confirm, e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Google Calendar].
- Professional advisors, such as attorneys, accountants, and insurers, who are bound by confidentiality obligations.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties that are not acting on our behalf. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
6. SMS/Text Messaging and Email Communications
SMS/text messages. If you give us your mobile number and check the consent box on our contact form (or otherwise expressly opt in), you agree to receive text messages from TechNaut Labs about your inquiry, appointment confirmations and reminders, follow-ups, and, if you separately agree, marketing and promotional content. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless carrier with questions about your text or data plan.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. We may send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact us at privacy@technautlabs.com [TBD].
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No sharing of mobile information. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of information sharing described in this Privacy Policy. We share this information only with service providers that help us deliver our text messaging program (such as GoHighLevel and its messaging carriers and aggregators), and only to send the messages you asked for.
Email. We may send you emails about your inquiry or appointment, and, where allowed by law, newsletters and marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time with the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email, or by contacting us. Even after you opt out of marketing, we may still send you transactional or relationship messages, such as appointment confirmations or responses to your requests.
Calls. If you give us your phone number, we may call you about your inquiry. You may ask to be added to our internal do-not-call list at any time. [TBD: confirm whether calls are recorded; if so, add a recording notice that meets applicable consent requirements.]
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your mobile/SMS opt-in data with anyone for marketing purposes. We may share personal information in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: with vendors that perform services for us, as described in Section 5.
- Affiliated or partner firms: with affiliated or partner firms when needed to answer your inquiry or deliver services you have asked about, or with your consent. These firms may only use the information for those purposes or under their own privacy notices and applicable law.
- Advertising and analytics partners: through cookies and pixels on the Site, as described in Section 4. Under some state privacy laws, letting advertising partners collect information through these tools for targeted advertising may count as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Section 10 explains how to opt out.
- Legal and safety reasons: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of TechNaut Labs, our clients, or others, or to investigate fraud or violations of our Terms.
- Business transfers: in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to customary confidentiality protections.
- With your consent or at your direction.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. That includes responding to your inquiry, maintaining our business relationship, meeting legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory recordkeeping requirements, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. To set retention periods, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, why we hold it, and what the law requires.
For example, we generally keep contact form submissions and prospect records for [TBD: e.g., 3 years] after our last interaction with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we have a legal reason to keep them longer. We keep records of SMS and email opt-outs as long as needed to honor your choices. Records related to a paid engagement are kept according to the engagement agreement and applicable professional and legal requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These include limiting access to people who need it and relying on reputable service providers that maintain their own security programs. However, no website, internet transmission, or electronic storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use caution when sending information online, and contact us right away if you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure.
10. Your State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Utah, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws, you may have some or all of the following rights for your personal information, subject to legal exceptions and to whether those laws apply to us:
- Right to know/access: to confirm whether we process your personal information and to get a copy of it in a portable format.
- Right to correct: to have inaccurate personal information corrected. (Utah’s Consumer Privacy Act does not currently include a correction right, but we will consider all reasonable correction requests.)
- Right to delete: to have us delete personal information you provided to us or we collected about you.
- Right to opt out of targeted advertising and “sales”: to opt out of processing for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising, and of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined by law. You can do this by [TBD: “Your Privacy Choices” / “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link or cookie preference tool], by turning on Global Privacy Control where we honor it, or by contacting us.
- Right to opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, where applicable. We do not engage in this kind of profiling.
- Rights about sensitive data: we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the Site, and we do not use sensitive data to infer characteristics about you.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Utah residents. Under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah residents may have the right to confirm whether we process their personal data and to access it, to delete personal data they provided to us, to get a portable copy of personal data they previously provided, and to opt out of processing for targeted advertising or the sale of personal data, to the extent the Act applies.
California residents. In the past 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email, phone number, and IP address); commercial and professional information (such as business details you provide); internet or other electronic network activity; general geolocation data; and inferences drawn from this information. We collect this information from the sources described in Section 2, for the purposes described in Section 3, and disclose it to the categories of recipients described in Sections 5 and 7. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising cookies and pixels may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you may opt out as described above. California residents may also ask about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes under California’s “Shine the Light” law. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
How to submit a request. Email privacy@technautlabs.com [TBD] with the subject line “Privacy Request,” or write to us at the mailing address in Section 15. To protect your information, we will verify your identity by matching the information you give us with information we already have, and we may ask for more details. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We may ask for proof of the agent’s authority and ask you to verify your identity directly. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days, which may be extended where the law permits). If we deny your request, we will explain why. Where state law gives you a right to appeal, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line “Privacy Request Appeal.” If you are still unhappy with the result, you may contact your state attorney general.
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). Some information we receive in connection with financial services may be “nonpublic personal information” under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and is exempt from certain state privacy laws. To the extent GLBA applies to any of our services, we will handle that information as GLBA requires and give you any required separate privacy notice. [TBD: compliance to confirm whether GLBA applies to TechNaut Labs’ services and whether a separate GLBA privacy notice is needed.]
11. Children’s Privacy
The Site and our services are meant for business owners and professionals and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. International Users
The Site is operated in the United States and is intended for users in the United States. If you visit the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
13. Important Disclaimer
Information on the Site, in our marketing materials, and in our general communications is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not tax, legal, accounting, financial, or investment advice, and you should not rely on it as such. Nothing on the Site creates a client, advisory, fiduciary, or other professional relationship. That relationship begins only when you and TechNaut Labs sign a written engagement agreement. Any tax-related discussion on the Site is not intended or written to be used, and cannot be used, to avoid tax penalties or to promote, market, or recommend any transaction or matter to another party. Tax and financial outcomes depend on your specific facts and on laws that change over time. Results are not guaranteed, and past results or client examples do not predict future outcomes. Please talk with your own qualified tax, legal, and financial professionals before acting on any information. TechNaut Labs may work alongside affiliated or partner firms. Any services those firms provide are offered separately under their own agreements and disclosures. [TBD: compliance to confirm whether any licensure/registration disclosures (e.g., CPA, EA, investment adviser, insurance) are required.]
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make material changes, we will give additional notice as required by law, such as a notice on the Site or an email. Changes take effect when posted unless stated otherwise. Please review this Policy periodically.
